Wednesday the 22nd
September 2010 marked an important day in the ongoing
development of ACE IT and the Edinburgh Silver Surfers - with the official opening of our new
George Street offices and computer training suite

ACE IT Chair
John Elliot (centre left) opens the celebration
and congratulates all involved in the move to
the new George Street offices. |
Since moving from our previous offices in Dalry - staff
and volunteers have been busy arranging equipment and
furniture to best possible effect in order to create a
training area which retains the relaxed and user friendly
atmosphere our clients have come to know and expect.
After all the hard work, the opening celebration provided
the perfect opportunity to relax and enjoy catching up with
friends old and new – many of whom were visiting the offices
for the very first time

The celebration
reflected the relaxed and informal atmosphere
staff, volunteers and learners have come to know
and expect from ACE IT. |
On the day, ACE IT staff and volunteers were joined by
current and former learners, volunteers from the Moose in
the Hoose project and the Edinburgh Silver Surfers.

Silver Surfer
Kath Wilkie shares her views concerning the new
offices with Councillor Norman Work and ACE IT
Chief Executive Jenny Ridge (centre). |
Local MSP Sarah Boyack and local
councillor Norman Work who have both shown outstanding
support for ACE IT were also in attendance.
The event also provided an ideal opportunity to
introduce ourselves to the local George Street community
and we were delighted to welcome representatives from a
number of local businesses and organisations including
the George Street Association.
The afternoon proved a great success with everyone
remarking on the outstanding quality and flexibility of
the new premises. A fantastic first event to be hosted
at our new location and – it is to be hoped – the first
of many such occasions.
