The Surfers are pleased to announce that ACE IT has been short-listed for the Nominet ‘Best Practice Challenge’ under the category ‘Best Development Project for this years awards

We, the Silver Surfers, came into being in 2001 and very quickly became a strong unit under the tutelage of Jenny and PoL followed and assisted by Maria and other enthusiastic volunteers of ACE IT.

We have expanded our contacts to other groups and outside activities and in this process and have made many good friends and expanded our social lives a great deal

Our outside activities have taken us to the new Scottish Parliament building, Edinburgh Castle to help fire the 1 o’clock gun and Lauriston Castle among other interesting places and we have joined in with other Surfers in Angus.

The guidance given to the Surfers by all the tutors has helped us – as a 50+ group – to overcome the initial fear of modern technology and we cannot praise them highly enough for bringing us into the 21st century.

We wish all those involved in the challenge well and look forward to hearing the results in due course.
