On Wednesday 1st October we the Silver Surfers and ACE IT staff and
volunteers visited Meadowbank Sports Centre as part of the ‘Jam Packed Full
Of Life’ celebrations of International Older People’s Day.
The centre was certainly jam packed with a wide range of
activities and stallholders which included our good friends from Get Up and
Go, Ageing Well, CSV – RSVP, Caring Memories, Edinburgh Leisure, Mental
Health and Wellbeing, City of Edinburgh Council Libraries, A City For All
Ages, Community Learning & Development, Pilmeny Development Project to name
but a few.
We enjoyed all the catering provided by ACE IT and Super Jam
throughout the day. We even managed to join in the Knitathon. We also picked
up the latest edition of our favourite magazine the new ‘Get Up +Go’
publication for activities for the 50+ group
