On 8th April 2008, the Edinburgh Silver Surfers took part in the
launch of The Hub initiative at Queen Margaret University
The Hub is a partnership of organisations set up by The Royal
Bank of Scotland to form a Centre for the Older Person’s
Agenda.(COPA). Membership of The HUB include older people and
anyone who is interested in older people's issues.
There was an interesting programme of workshops,
presentations and talks outlining what would be available to
ensure that older people continued to contribute to play their
part in all aspects of modern living. The launch was very well
attended by representatives from a cross section of groups in
the City. The Surfers attended the event with staff and
volunteers from ACE IT and everyone found the day very
informative and made full use of the networking opportunities.
