The people of Edinburgh have always been so proud of ‘our’ men and women who have been involved in any way in protecting our safety.

The weekend was just fantastic and everyone involved in the planning of the event can be justifiably proud of the result.

But in all the euphoria and celebration over the weekend we must never forget the men and women who were killed or came home badly disabled or disfigured. As well as thanks and gratitude to all who are still serving, we will always remember those who will never come home, who made the ultimate sacrifice.
